I’m quite a fan of Su:m 37′s Air Rising Moist Cushion Foundation, so when dear Elaine offered to pass me the Su:m 37 Air Rising CC Cream, I was really excited. This would also be my first CC cream, so naturally my excitement level was through the roof.
Su:m 37 is a Korean counter brand in the same league as Sulwhasoo and History of Whoo. I’ve tried a few items from the brand which I purchased either in Korea or online at Gmarket, and so far Su:m 37′s products have worked quite well for me.
I wish this CC Cream came with the same high SPF level of the Air Rising Moist Cushion Foundation, as I personally find SPF28/PA++ a little low.
The CC Cream phase is quite a recent development, an upgrade from BB Creams which were more of blemish balms, before they were called everything from beauty balms to beauty boosters. CC Creams have tended to be associated with Color Control or Color Correction, to enhance and even your natural skintone.
I’d read that CC creams mostly come with some kind of colour changing qualities, so I wasn’t too freaked out when the cream came out as a whitish cream.
Let the blending begin. Still looks quite ghastly white.
Blending continues, and we start seeing the colour change.
And here we are with a better match. Naturally, it’ll take more blending to even our the shade when I’m applying on my face, but rest assure the shade does adjust itself into a fairly decent match.
I tried blending this out with my fingers and with a brush, but for some reason, the finish just wasn’t as flawless as I’d hope. This CC Cream tended to settle into the lines by my nose and accentuate the dry patches next to my mouth when I had a slight reaction to some new products. Maybe it was because my skin wasn’t in tip top condition, but I didn’t quite enjoy this as much as I’d hope.
The coverage is light/medium, and oil control was average, around 5 hours for my oily/combination skin. I’d definitely love this much more if the finish was anything like what I enjoy with the Air Rising Moist Cushion Foundation.
