Blush Crush – Becca Sweetpea

April 26, 2012 at 9:31 pm | Posted in Beauty | 8 Comments

Ever since I discovered the joys of ordering via Zuneta, I’ve been getting into the Australian brand Becca. I really liked the Beach Tint in Pink Grapefruit I got, so I decided to give their mineral blush range a try. After looking at several reviews, I settled on Sweetpea which sounded like an awesome nude and natural shade.

Sweetpea was part of the Fall 2011 collection titled “Lost Weekend”.

They listed the ingredients for the entire range of Mineral Blushes, which is possibly helpful if you need a reference before purchasing the other shades.

I’ve got “The Avengers” movie on my mind, but the packaging kinda reminds me of Captain America’s shield.. lol..

Sweetpea is described as a “Rosy plum nude” on Zuneta, but in real life, I’m hard pressed to see any plum.

Rosy nude on the other hand is spot on. There’s very fine micro-shimmer in this blush, but it’s almost invisible to the naked eye, so you don’t have to fear any overt shimmers.

Swatched in natural light.

Swatched in flash light.

I’m really happy with Sweetpea as it was exactly what I was looking for in a nude and naturally glowy blush. The texture was smooth and easily blendable with a blush brush, the pigmentation good, and controllable and very importantly, this is long-lasting for a powder blush. There was minimal fading even after a long day in warm, humid weather. I still had my naturally glowy cheeks even well into the evening.

What I love most is it doesn’t make me appear like I’m wearing blush, but still manages to make my face look damn good! Now that’s a feat =)
