I’ve been a fan of snail products since discovering them during the great snail rush happened in Korea. Every brand had a snail range, and I quickly picked up a bunch of snail products from Nature Republic, Hanskin and more recently Secret Key. It’s Skin’s Prestige Creme D’Escargot is perhaps one of the most famous snail creams, in no small part due to the endorsement by wildly popular Kpop boyband 2PM’s hunk Nickhun.

I purchased this during my Gmarket Haul #1 when the It’s Skin official store was having a 30% sale, which was a really good deal.

The main characteristics of snail products.

It’s Skin really went all out on the packaging of this Prestige Creme D’Escargot. From the sturdy gold box to the multi-faceted jewel-like tub packaging, this is one creme that screams prestige.

This is definitely a gorgeous product to sit on your bathroom counter, but as much as I think it’s gorgeous to look at, it’s awfully bulky and takes up way too much space.

The cream has a light, no-sticky texture, which is almost gel-like but not quite. It’s very moisturising but absorbs very well without leaving any sticky or greasy feeling. It’s light enough to be a day cream so I’ve been using this twice daily, morning and night. It’s a nicely balanced product, keeping my face moisturised during the night and not too oily for the day. I’ve found it to be quite useful in combatting sudden breakouts and keeping pimples at bay. I don’t have much wrinkle problems so I can’t say much for the effectiveness there, but I finally understand the hype surrounding this product, and it’s not all about Nickhun. =)
