On our last day in Paris, we decided to take a day trip out to Versailles to visit the Château de Versailles.

It was fairly convenient taking the train out to Versailles and even though we didn’t have exact directions to get from the train station, it was easy just following the crowd as almost everyone on the train was heading to the Chateau.

Not sure if it was school field trip season, but there were so many groups of cute little kids out with their chaperones/teachers!

One of the world’s largest palaces, Palace of Versailles was the home to the French royal family back in the day.

The Chateau itself is supremely grand and huge and now serves as a museum. I’d highly suggest getting the audio guide while exploring the Chateau as the history and stories behind each exhibit is truly interesting.

Gorgeous ceiling frescoes that are simply breathtaking.

The level of intricacies and details in the art that adorns the Chateau was wondrous to behold, especially in real life.

The Chateau’s most famous room, the Hall of Mirrors.

The gardens and grounds of the Palace was equally stunning and the sheer size was enough to tire us out.

We checked out the gift shop before leaving and came across the Laduree gift shop with super cute Hello Kitty series!

Then it was back to Paris and more views of the Eiffel Tower.

Just one more before sunset.

The next morning, it was time to say goodbye to Paris and board our train to Lucern, Switzerland!

Stay tuned for sights from Lucerne =)
