Chinese New Year EOTD

It’s been a really long time since I posted a EOTD.. I never have the time in the morning, and the lighting in my house is not really ideal for picture taking as it’s all soft yellow lighting. But I managed to take some photos of my CNY EOTD which weren’t totally hideous so I thought I’d share them with you guys =)

I went for something really simple as I didn’t have much time to spend on my makeup. CNY day one is always terribly hectic. I needed long-lasting eyeshadows that would survive a long day out in the tropical humidity and be prepared for rain or shine.

During my first foray into the brand Inglot in Poland, I picked up a eyeshadow trio in my favorite neutral shades. It’s the first item I’m going to review, which should tell you how excited I am about it! I even did an EOTD!! lol..

Inglot baby!

Merry Xmas!!

I don’t usually celebrate Xmas, but even this scrooge gets bitten by the holiday mood =) My office had several parties going on at the same time, and by early morning it was resembling a child-care center with lots of little children and toddlers running around! hahaha children are seriously going to grow up with the misconception that the office is a place of fun.. lol..

Anyways, what would Xmas be without presents?!

Xmas EOTD!!

Coffret D’or Colour Mixing Eyes 04 + EOTD

I have mad love for Japanese eyeshadows, be it drugstore – Lavshuca, Kate, MM or counter brands – Maquillage, Lunasol and most recently, Coffret D’or. I had been lemming to try this Coffret eyeshadows since I first played with the testers for the Shine Accent Eyes in  Taiwan. But as we all know, I got very distracted by Maquillage then, and sadly forgot about Coffret D’or. However, my lemmings were revived in full force by the Coffret D’or’s new Colour Mixing Eyes. The colours looked vibrant and gorgeous and I knew I needed to get my hands on them. But being the cheapo I am, I waited rather impatiently for a sale or some sort of discount. My prayers were answered by the Metro 20% sale! It’s becoming quite a frequent event since the last time I majorly hauled there was barely 2 months ago!

I haven’t actually done a post on my total haul during the sale, which actually happened before I went to Bangkok.. lol.. But here’s a part of it =)

Mix it up!

EOTD Lunasol Dark Variation

Last week was Lunasol Week so from Monday to Friday I used a different Lunasol e/s palette for my eye makeup. lol.. I usually like to pick what to use randomly on the day itself, but having a brand-themed week is pretty interesting too.. Here’s a look I did with Lunasol’s Nobel Shade Eyes in 02 Deep Variation.

The lighting’s not too great, but I actually like this look quite a bit. I have 2 types of Lunasol palettes, Sheer Contract Eyes and Noble Shade Eyes, of which I had preferred the Sheer Contrast Eyes. But after one week of using the various Lunasol palettes, Noble Shade Eyes are really growing on me!

Lunasol shadows are silky smooth and a dream to blend, and pigmented too! They’re pretty foolproof too as shadows in the same quad are designed to complement each other for very wearble looks.

The bits of glitter you see is actually from the Kate Gel Eyeshadow in BR-2 which i used as a base.

Overall, I’ve grown to love my Noble Shade Eye palettes and will definitely try to get my hands on more Lunasols!

Leaving you with a close-up shot of this pretty baby =)

EOTD Lunasol Yellow Variation

Recently I’ve been having themed e/s weeks, and I had a couple minutes extra time this morning before I left for work, so I decided to do an EOTD post for the beginning of Lunasol week. I’ve had request for EOTD on Green Coral, but its not too work friendly, so I’m starting with a neutral palette first.

This is a very work-safe look, and coupled with the bad lighting and lousy camera, you probably can’t see anything.. haha..

Hope this one shows up better. I love that this is a non-brown neutral look. It is work-safe, but not boring.

I used Kate’s gel eyeshadow in WT-1 as a base and Lunasol’s Noble Shade Eyes in Yellow Variation.

I applied the top left yellow shade all over lid, and the top right orange shade from lashline up to crease, and highlighter with the bottom left shimmery yellow. This is pretty much a fool-proof, no-brainer palette to use, and i love how Japanese palettes take the guess work out of matching.. Everything’s pretty much laid out for you, and it’s really hard to go wrong with these palettes.. lol..

EOTD Visee B5

I keep my eye makeup pretty neutral during weekdays for work, so weekends are the only time my pretty colours get some love. Though I was in a rush to get out of the house after oversleeping.. lol.. I decided to do a look with my new Visee B5 palettes which i got from Aichaku recently. In my haste to get out of the house, I forgot to use a base/primer under the e/s, but the colours still turned out pretty decent, though they started to crease and fade after a couple of hours. Moral of the story is: Always use a base/primer!

Indoor lighting w/o flash. Please ignore the ungroomed eyebrows.. Notice I tried to use the black in the palette to "line" my eyes? Turned out kinda weird.. bleah..

Near the window to get some natural light. Again my lousy camera washed out the colour.. but I assure you it looks much better in person. Should turn out much better with a proper base/primer. Now i’ve got all kinds of lemmings for the other Visee palettes.. bah I need a CP!!!

EOTD Purplicious

Since I usually stick with neutrals for weekdays at the office, weekends I get to play around with some colours and today I broke out my purple Maquillage 3D Eyes Creator from my Taiwan Haul as well as my Korres eyeshadow from my ASOS haul to create this purplicious EOTD!

Stuff I used:

First I applied Kate Gel Eye Shadow in WT-1 all over my lids as a base. Followed by the first lilac shade of my Maquillage 3D Eyes Creator in VI367 on the inner half of my lids, then applied my Korres Eyeshadow in 77S Plum on the outer half, blended up to the crease.

I applied my eye makeup early in the day around noon before I left the house and this pictures was taken just after I got home about 11 hours later. I’m quite impressed at the staying power of the eyeshadows even after a day of gallivanting around town for a movie, and even a trip to and from Expo for some major retail therapy (more on that later).

EOTD Silver Grey

TGIF! I’ve been neglecting this blog again, but since I have some spare time, I finally decided to post an EOTD!
I don’t think I’m skilled at eye makeup at all, in fact, I don’t use eyeliner or mascara (I can hear gasps of shock). I’m pretty much just an e/s kind of girl, and it wasn’t even that long ago that I wasn’t using any eye makeup at all (I can hear jaws dropping) haha anyway here’s a very random Friday EOTD!

Stuff I used:

From my Taiwan Haul, the Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes Palette in SV887, and the Kate Gel Eye Shadow in BR-2. I had applied the Kate gel e/s as a base thinking of doing a neutral eye, but randomly decided to go for silvery grey halfway through. I used the bottom left silver shade over 2/3 of my eyelids, and the bottom right dark grey shade on the 1/3 outer V as well as the crease. The top left pearl white shade was used to highlight.

I took this photo at the end of my day when I got home, so the e/s isn’t quite as fresh as it was in the morning, and my camera did wash out most of the colour and sparkles. Pardon the ungroomed upper lid.. I’ve been slacking.. Just for the fun of it, here’s another picture of my eye.. hahaha

My weird double eyelid fold makes eyeliner look really weird on me, which is the excuse I use for skipping that.. =P
By seriously, I’ve yet to be able to make eyeliner work on my weird eye shape..
