I’m back from Korea! *Waves*

I spent an awesome week in Korea, mainly in Seoul and Jeju – sightseeing, eating, mountain climbing and of course shopping. =P As with all holidays, this one passed much too quickly and now I’m back home suffering from withdrawal syndrome. More about my Korea hauls to come, once I’ve had the chance to unpack and sort my purchases from CPs..

Today’s post was requested by dear Maria – she wanted to see what’s in my travel makeup/skincare pouches as I’ve had an insane couple of months of flying in and out for both work and leisure. Four trips in fours months is a bit of a record, even for me.

Quick Peek – Etude House Acne Foaming Wash

As I mentioned in my previous review of Hada Labo’s AHA/BHA Exfoliating Face Wash Foam, I love using mousse/foam cleanser that come in liquid form, but transforms into foam via the pump mechanism. Etude House’s Trouble Eraser Acne Foaming Wash is another such product that I had been using. Since I’m almost done with it, I figured I’d give some quick thought on it.

One point to note is that I suffer from hormonal acne, which means my hormones are unbalanced and therefore causing acne. I’ve been on medication for about a year, and most times it helps keep my acne problem under control. But there sometimes, due to stress or that time of the month, I still get acne that comes and goes. I started using this cleanser mostly for the kitschy factor or liquid-to-foam. But I’ve come to like it very much, and am quite sorry that I no longer see this in local Etude House stores.

As an acne foaming wash, no surprises to see "Salicylic Acid" listed in the active ingredients. Unlike some anti-acne products, this foaming wash isn’t too harsh and doesn’t strip my skin of moisture after use. Perhaps as it is dispensed in foam form, the effects are not as harsh? Two pumps gives me more than enough foam for my whole face, and it rinses off easily leaving no residue. My skin feels just a bit tight immediately upon rinsing, but the feeling goes away quickly, leaving my face feeling squeaky clean – a feeling I enjoy very much!

I’ve been using this at night to double-cleanse after my Etude House Light Cleansing Oil, while using my Hada Labo cleanser in the morning. Especially after removing my makeup, I love how clean my face feels when I use this. I wouldn’t say this got rid of my acne, but it did it’s part in keeping my face clean and hence lowering the chances of clogged pores and pimples/acne of that sort. Might be my imagination, but I think my stress-induced-acne and those that appear during that time of the month, goes away faster because of this..

I haven’t seen this in Etude House for a while, not sure if it’s discontinued.. Which would be a pity as I quite liked it, and it was really affordable! If anyone spots this, let me know! =)

Anyone who applies makeup will probably agree that a good makeup remover is worth it’s weight in gold. Removing your makeup is just an important step as applying it, which is why I’m always on the look out for a good, inexpensive and easily accessible makeup remover. I like the ease of oil cleansers, as they tend to be able to remove my face and eye makeup at the same time. But having oily skin myself, it’s difficult to find an oil cleanser that doesn’t make me feel even oilier after using it. Which is why I was attracted to Etude House’s Light Cleansing Oil – I figured anything with "Light" in the name shouldn’t be too oily. Plus the cute packaging got to me.. lol..

Etude House skincare items have been a bit of a hit-and-miss for me, but their makeup range is much more consistently hits for me. This makeup remover happens to fall in the "hit" category.

It feels watery and lightweight, not too sticky/oily, which is a huge plus. It effectively removes all my makeup – including gel eyeliner. No heavy-duty rubbing involved, just gentle massaging of the oil all over my face before washing off with water. The result is a clean and smooth face, without any sticky/oily residue or traces of makeup. I still double cleanse as it’s simply my habit to do so, but I do believe I could get away without if I wanted to.

The packaging is cute as hell, and looks really pretty sitting beside my sink. That’s probably what got me to buy it in the first place, but the effectiveness, affordability and accessibility will probably get me to repurchase it. Give it a try if you’re looking for a new oil cleanser =)

It’s no secret I’m a big fan of Etude House. Be it their makeup range, skincare range and even their brushes, I’ve got mad love going on for quite a few of their products. One of them is the Pore Erasing Peach Base. This is a fairly old product, I believe it was first launched in Summer 2008, and became part of their permanent lineup. Good thing too cuz this is good stuff!

Erase my pores please!

Having oily skin and enlarged pores is such a bane to my existence that I’m always on the look out to try anything that promises "Matte" or "Pore Control". I previously found something that really delivers on the "Matte" promise – Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. So I wanted to quickly review a "Pore Control" product I’d been using for a while.
